What's new in Royal Mile Starmap 1.4
Edinburgh’s Royal Mile Starmap was designed by Locus Focus as a demonstration project for the “Technology Solutions for Tourism 2012” event run by Edinburgh Tourism Action Group.Putative visitors to the Royal Mile were given a paper Starmap and by “visiting” a location, they could discover completely unexpected information about some of Edinburgh’s Stars. The project demonstrates how the gap can be bridged between the physical and digital worlds. Our Starmap also shows that access to digital information in the physical world can be accomplished with a wide range of mobile devices by a wide range of people.
In order to focus on the process rather than the content (and to have some fun), our Starmap owes more to fantasy than fact – so don’t believe all you hear!
